Scalenut is an AI-powered SEO and content marketing platform that aids in the entire SEO content lifecycle.

It has an array of tools that help you with content research, planning, writing, and optimization.

In this Scalenut review, I discuss the top 5 features that can help you in your content marketing process and the platform’s pricing, pros, and cons.

But before we get started:

❗ Disclaimer: Don’t use Scalenut to generate content (especially long-form) that you plan to publish online. AI content marketing tools aren’t meant for that. Instead, use it in processes like – content ideation, research, optimization, and repurposing. Even if you use Scalenut for content generation, it’s better to take that content as inspiration and rely on human content to create better results that rank and convert.

Top 5 Scalenut Features I Reviewed as a Content Marketer

There are 5 primary features of Scalenut that can help you as a content marketer:

• Content optimizer
• Keyword planner
• Traffic Analyzer
• Marketing copywriter
• Article writer

Let’s deep dive into all these features one by one and see how you can effectively leverage them in your content marketing processes.

Feature 1. Content Optimizer

Scalenut’s content optimizer lets you import content from a URL or copy-paste it into its editor. It then lets you optimize content for LSIs and other on-page SEO elements.

Step 1. From the left-hand side menu of Scalenut’s dashboard, click on ‘Content Optimizer.’

Step 2. Enter the primary keyword(s) you want to optimize the content for, select the location, and paste the URL in case the content you’re planning to optimize is already published. 

If the content isn’t published, you can leave the URL box blank and paste the content manually in the next step. In my case, the article is already published.

Click on ‘Optimize’ after providing Scalenut with all the information it asked for.

Step 3. Scalenut will now analyze the URL and generate an optimization report that looks like this:

Here’s a quick walkthrough of the report:

The top menu of the content editor is somewhat similar to Google Docs menu and lets you:

• Change text style by adding or removing headers.
• Format text – make it bold, italic, underlined, etc.
• Add images, videos, or emojis to the document.
• Generate AI content and elaborate a point with the ‘Write Ahead’ button.

And do more.

Below the menu you have your Meta title, description, URL slug, and content that Scalenut exported from the URL you gave it in the previous step.

On the right, you have 3 tabs – Optimize, Research, and AI Templates.

The Optimize tab gives your content a score out of 100 based on the key terms used in your content and overall SEO. Below the score, it lists all the issues the content currently has that impact the on-page SEO.

For example, one of the issues for this blog is related to the Featured Snippet. My blog doesn’t have a question-type header with a 30-50-word section below it that can potentially compete for the featured snippet position for the SMS vs. WhatsApp marketing keyword.

The Research tab has 5 sub-tabs:

1. Key Terms

Lists all the NLP-powered key terms and phrases associated with your primary keyword. In simple language, these are the terms you must use in your content piece.

2. Competition

Gives you competitive insights by analyzing the top 10 ranking URLs for your primary keyword.

3. Questions

Pulls questions from social media that people are asking related to the keyword. It also generates AI questions that are relevant to your primary keyword. 

You can leverage these questions to build a FAQ section at the end of the article if you think it’s needed.

4. Statistics

Lists all the statistics you can add to your blog to increase credibility.

5. Detailed Report

This sub-tab gives you all the information related to your content, such as:

• Word count, SEO score, H tags, Images, etc.
• Outlines of all your competitors 
• Citations
• Key terms

AI Templates shows all the templates that Scalenut offers. This feature is useful when writing an article from scratch in the Scalenut content optimizer. But in our case, it’s of no use.

Step 4. Start by adding the NLP terms given in the Research tab to your content. This will help you increase your SEO optimization score. Next, fix all the issues listed in the Optimize tab, and your blog will be ready to go live.

Feature 2. Keyword Planner

This tool helps you find all relevant keywords for the primary keyword you input and also helps you find keyword gaps for your website.

Step 1. Click the ‘Keyword Planner’ option from the left-hand side menu.

Step 2. Enter the primary keyword and select the target location. To find keyword gaps, you can also enter your domain and competitors’ (up to 3) URLs. After pasting the URLs, click ‘Plan’.

Step 3. Scalenut will take a few minutes to analyze your primary keyword and give you related keywords and gaps.

Feature 3. Traffic Analyzer

You can simply connect your Google Search Console account to Scalenut to view your traffic-related metrics in a sleek, modern dashboard.

Step 1. Connect your Google account that has access to the Google search console.

Step 2. Select the Domain you want to track and choose the countries you want to track ranking for.

Step 3. Select the pages you want to track via Scalenut. When you’re done, click ‘Let’s Go.’

Feature 4. Marketing Copywriter

The marketing copywriter has several mini-tools that help you generate AI copies for product descriptions, customer review responses, simple paragraphs, and more.

Step 1. Click on the marketing copywriter template according to your needs. For this example, I am using Scalenut to write a product description.

Step 2. On the right-hand side of the screen, Scalenut asks you some questions that you must answer:

• Brand name
• Description of the product in short
• Tone 
• Enable/disable meta title and meta description generation

These questions vary with every copywriting template Scalenut offers.

Step 3. Fill in all the details and click Generate.

Scalenut gave me 3 different product descriptions; here’s one of them:

Feature 5. Article Writer

Scalenut’s article writer takes care of the blog creation process from start to end. You can enter your primary and supporting keywords, choose the target location, and choose references. The article writer will then create an outline and generate SEO-optimized content for you. 

The whole process takes 5-7 minutes.

Step 1. From the left-hand side menu, Click ‘Article Writer.’

Step 2. Enter the keyword you’d like to rank for, select the target location, and click Create.

👀 Note: You can also add Secondary keywords below the primary keyword to help with SEO.

Step 3. Scalenut will now start working on the article. A ‘Writing in process’ button will appear just beside your content report. Click it, and it will open an Article Configuration page. 

Here, you need to give Scalenut:

• Article context – a small description of your blog topic
• Select article type – general, beginners guide, listicle, service page, affiliate.
• Featured image style – select the type of image
• Reference articles 
• Key terms list
• Tone of voice

Click ‘Create Title’ after providing all the information.

Step 4. Scaelnut will now give you multiple title ideas.

Select the blog title and click ‘Create Outline.’

Step 5. Scalenut will now create an outline based on the reference chosen and its own knowledge. You can edit the outline by adding and removing headers.

When you’re done finalizing the outline, click ‘Generate Content.’

In a couple of minutes, Scalenut generates the article:

My personal opinion – Scalenut’s article writer will give you mediocre content that might rank in the short term but will eventually be outranked by much better quality human content. So, do think twice before publishing AI content online. I recommend you don’t do it, at least for long-form content or any content type that you plan to rank on SERP.

How NOT to Use Scalenut

Your primary motive for subscribing to Scalenut should be to fasten the content creation process by using the tool to brainstorm ideas and optimize existing content for on-page SEO.

With AI comes the temptation to generate lots of content and scale the content creation process to get traction fast. And yes, you will get quick initial traction, but it surely won’t be sustainable.

This is what happens when you generate 1000s of AI pages and publish online blindly:

Even when you create the first draft using Scalenut and edit it thoroughly, I don’t think it can beat human-written content. So remember, AI content marketing tools are just to support your content marketing efforts and not replace them.

What Did I Like About Scalenut?

Here are some advantages of Scalenut:

What I Didn’t Like About Scalenut?

Like every other AI content marketing tool, the tool has significant drawbacks too:

1. Primarily Supports English

Scalenut’s content generation capabilities are primarily focused on the English language, which may limit its utility for businesses targeting multilingual audiences. This limitation could hinder the effectiveness of the tool for companies operating in diverse linguistic markets.

2. Learning Curve for Advanced Features

While Scalenut is designed to be user-friendly, maximizing the benefits of its more advanced features and integrations may require some initial learning and experimentation. You might need to invest time in understanding and utilizing these advanced functionalities effectively.

Is Scalenut Worth Investing in 2024

Scalenut is a content marketing software that helps with content optimization, keyword planning, traffic analysis, and more.

The platform comes with multiple mini tools that help you with product descriptions, blogs, short-form content, and more.

Overall, Scalenut is a great tool for supporting your content creation process. 

However, my suggestion is to avoid using AI content marketing tools when creating long-form content; instead, use them to enhance your human-written content.

To churn out high-quality, long-form blogs, you need an expert human writer. 

AI isn’t the right solution for content generation.
